....When Representative Eddie “Day” Pashinski needed expert testimony on violence, drugs, and crime before a select committee of the House of Representatives, he called upon WVADS, Inc.

...When Luzerne County schools requested that a Random Student Athlete Drug Policy be developed, WVADS, Inc. got the nod.

...When the Luzerne County Coroner and Luzerne County District Attorney decided that heroin was becoming a major community problem, they called upon WVADS, Inc. to chair its newly-established Heroin Task Force.  Again, it was WVADS, Inc. who was successful in arranging a New York City meeting with former Mayor Rudy Giuliani to discuss the impact heroin was having in New York City and what alternatives could be considered.

...When schools decided that truancy was escalating, they turned to WVADS, Inc. to chair a committee to investigate the issues.

...When Luzerne County Commissioner Greg Skrepenak formed the Luzerne County Drug Task Force, he turned to WVADS, Inc. to chair the Prevention Committee.

...Once again, when Commissioner Skrepenak wanted a unique, “out of the box” prevention initiative for school children, he turned to WVADS, Inc. to co-ordinate the efforts.  Thus, the precedent-setting, highly-acclaimed “Journey of Addiction” was born.

...When our community leaders were calling for a method of bringing the community together to celebrate drug-free living, they turned to WVADS, Inc. for assistance.  The Drug and Alcohol Free Community Festival, a 3-day event featuring games, activities, information booths, prevention programs, recovering addicts/alcoholics sharing stories of addiction and recovery.  When some wondered if it would be successful, WVADS, Inc. brought 75,000 people into the venues, including award-winning actress Gabrielle Carteris of “Beverly Hills 90210” fame.

...When community leaders wanted to have more national high-profile anti-drug programs at the F.M. Kirby Center For The Performing Arts, WVADS, Inc. was called upon once again.  We put our contacts to work and arranged for Dave Winfield, former New York Yankee standout and baseball Hall of Famer, and Thomas “Hollywood” Henderson, former Dallas Cowboys standout.

...When area school districts needed comprehensive drug and alcohol policies written, WVADS, Inc. was there to do the job, including providing seminars on search and seizure, reasonable suspicion, Supreme Court findings applicable to schools, etc.
